This is a very impressive painting that I can spend quite some time gazing at due to it's rich color and detail. The technique used to present the illustration is beautifully executed and almost every stroke is visible to the naked eye, showing how much detail and effort has been put to this piece.
Personally I have noticed the lack of landscaping or general traditional/expressionism in Deviant Art since there's a huge focus on digital art and pop culture here. Being able to appreciate your art in this website is quite the treat, and your skills prove that this community isn't only for the digital art savy people.
The colors chosen for the composition give that early winter evening feeling and the warm tones in the upper left corner have a great harmony with the lower right. The clouds have been beautifully executed as well as the smoke coming out the chimney, they don't blend in with each other at all and are visibly two different elements. The trees look amazing and I love how they reflect the evening colors. The scenery looks like a lovely place to walk through.
Wrapping this up, I'd like to say that you have master skills at capturing the expressionist technique and I can't wait to see more of your art!
Thank you very much for visiting my work, as a landscape artist, I'm useless lol so I totally appreciate your pheonemal skill. Impressionism is my great, great love. I'm not a typical impressionist as I probably lean a little more towars realism but impressionism is in my heart of hearts. Absolutely love your work....what an honour that you commented on mine
I know that square is very good for composition. i made this painting many years ago. back then i was study and some time was painting in Atelje of my teacher, so he had given me some piece of canvas. i was use them all and from that small piece was born that squer painting! back then i was very happy that i got that aweson and good canvas!
It's surprising how many colors there are in this painting. At first you only notice the complementary purple/yellow, but at a closer look I was able to notice some red and even some muted greens on the clouds. And they all come together so naturally. Wonderfully done!
