This piece caught my eye on the Critique page immediately because of the more traditional style and subject matter, which is rare on dA. I was also drawn to the colors, and in fullview I can see the care that you took in choosing them. I am particularly pleased by the blues you used to offset the warm tones of the flowers. I'm impressed my the thickness of the paint and the excellent texture.

Now to business.

Interest:
I find the most interesting portion of this painting to be he collection of small yellow and white specks on the right side. Why? Because it is noticeably different from the rest of the painting. I think that this piece would benefit from more variation in the size, shape, and level of detail in the flowers and foliage. I'd also like to see more definition and care taken in rendering the foliage.

Location:
I'm aware that the lack of a firm background is intentional, but I do not think that it is helping your piece. At least the suggestion of a table would be appreciable visually and add contrast to the organic vibrance of the flowers. Also, the lack of place seems to have allowed a pool of misplaced light to creep in under the bouquet, which is very odd.

Overall, this is a striking piece that has become daring again in our digital age. Well done!
